startingtheworkonthemodel.Makesureyou
understandthepurposeandplaceofeverypart.
Theassemblyrequiressomebasictools,suchas
scissors,sharpmodelingknife,bluntknifefor
scoringthefoldlines,rulerandneedle.Additional
materialsyouneedareonepintomakethe
propeller’sshaftandapieceofcardboardapprox.
0.3mmthickforreinforcingelementsandwheels.
You'llneedofcoursesuitablecementtoo.For
cementapplicationyoucanusetoothpicksorsome
similartool(specialfinecementapplicatorismost
suitablei fyouhaveone).
Firstofallyoumustscorewiththebluntknifeallfold
linesshownonthecutoutswithshortthickmarks
neartheparts.Toavoidmistakesandlostpartscut
thenecessarydetailsshortlybeforetheiruse.
Startwiththewing.Cutlowerhalves1and2and
don'tforgetthecutintheirfrontpartnearthewing
root,whichisnecessarytoformthewing'sV-shape
later.Bendthejointelementsinwardsandcarefully
formeachhalf.Trytorepresentthecharacteristic
shapeofthewing-fuselagejoint,asshownonthe
drawing.Cutfromjointelements[L]stripeswith
suitablelengthandu sethemtoassemblethewing's
lowerpartfromthetwohalves.Cutandbendthe
wing’spart3andcementthereinforcingelement3a
toit.
Cutandshapetheupperhalvesofthewing.
Cementthespar3tothewing'slowerpart.Testthe
fitofthewing’supperandlowerpartsandcement
themtogether.Watchoutforthewingprofileand
avoidwarping.
Drillholesinthecenteroftheformingparts10aand
10b,thenmakethecylindricalbody10through
whichthepropeller'saxleisprotruding.
Makethepropeller'sshaftcementingthepin'shead
totheformingpart11a,asshownonthedrawing.
Thepinmustbec oaxialwiththecylinder's10
centerline.Putthepinintothecylinder,thencement
thelimitingdisc11bonthepin'srearend.The
propeller'sshaftmustturnfreeinthecylinder's
body,butwithminimalclearance.Thenmakeand
cementthespinner11totheformingpart11a.
Cutthefuselage12andpayattentiontothecutsin
it-youmustmakethemwithmaximalaccuracy.Cut
theformingparts12aand12bandmakethe
necessaryjointelements[L].Carefullyshapethe
fuselage-alledgesofthesmallcutsmustjoin
togetherandthenmustbereinforcedwith[L]
elementscementedfrominside.Givee lliptical
shapetothefuselageandcementitstartingfrom
t
tothefuselage.Don'tforgetthatthepropellershaft's
axle(i.e.thepin)mustbecoaxialwithfuselage
centerline.
Thenextstepisthecanopy-parts14,14aand15.
Youhaveachoiceofnormalorarmoredwindshield
forthecanopy.Alternativepartsarewiththesame
numbers,butthenumber'scolorisdarkblue.
Makethecanopy,cementitonitsplace;then
cementtheassembledwingtothefuselage.Beware
ofanywarpingandcrooking.
Cuttheaerodynamicwing-fuselagejoints16,17,18
and19.Parts16and17musthavedouble-curved
shape.Toeaseyourjobcutparts16and17on
someplaces.Thec utsmustbeperpendicularto
theircontourlines.Forcleanerjobit'srecommended
toapplycementnotontheseparts,butontheir
attachmentpointsonthewingandfuselage.
Cutandassemblethehorizontalandverticaltail
(parts2025)andcementthemtothefuselageas
shownonthedrawing.
Nowitistimefordetails-oilandcoolingliquid
radiators,armament,propeller’sblades,antenna's
mast,rearviewmirror,exhaustsandcarburetor'sair
intake.Followtheinstructiondrawingsfortheir
assembly.
Ifyouwanttohaveanaircraftwithextendedlanding
gear,makethewheelsfromcard board(parts28,
28a,28b;29,29aand29b)andpainttheiredges
withsuitablepaint-waterbasedoracrylic;the
easiestwayistouseblackmarker.
Ifyoupreferaflyingmodel,makeyouraircraftwith
retractedmainlandinggear.Inthiscaseyoucan
omitparts10,10a,10b;11b;27,27b;28,28a,28b;
29,29a,29b;30,30b;31and31a,usingonlythe
formingpart11aforthefuselagefrontpart.Put
someweightinthenosetobalancetheflyingmodel.
